About Me
Hello and thank you for visiting my website! I’m Sarah, and I’m thrilled to share my latest paintings and drawings with you.
Like many of us, life can sometimes cause us to lose touch with the passions and creative outlets we once cherished. As we get older, priorities shift, and we often put aside what we love doing. For me, art has always been a constant love, dating back to my school days. However, as my children were growing up, my creative pursuits took a backseat to the demands of everyday life.
I’ve been happily married to my soulmate for 29 years, and together we have two amazing adult children, Heidi and Jake. Two years ago, they gifted me art classes as a way to help me relax, be more mindful, and rediscover my creative confidence. That gift reignited my passion for painting and drawing, offering me both a creative escape and a way to support my mental well-being through challenging times.
I started with watercolor and landscape drawing, and one of my most recent pieces is A Winter Day Walk in Attingham Park, created in Shropshire in late 2023.
Over time, I’ve discovered my love for specific genres like portraiture, pet paintings, and illustrations. Portrait painting was never something I expected to enjoy, but when I created a charcoal portrait of my nan as a birthday gift for my mum, it became an incredibly emotional and rewarding experience. Since then, I've also drawn a few portraits of our beloved family dog, Murphy—one of my favorites is of him with his head hanging out the car window, ears flying in the wind!
Now that you know a little more about me, I invite you to browse my gallery. I hope the art here brings you as much joy as I had creating it.
With much love,
Sarah x
